The WIC program serves to safeguard the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age five, who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating including breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care. Eligibility Services are provided at not cost to eligible families: Income eligible military or Washington state residents, including working families Pregnant women Women who are breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age Women who have had a baby in the past six months Parents, step-parents, single father, guardians and foster parents of infants and children under the age of 5 can apply for their children Families on Medicaid, Basic Food and/or TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) The following information is needed at an enrollment appointment: Identification Proof of address Proof of income Provider One Medical Card (if an individual or their child has one) For more information, call 360-240-5554, visit the WIC webpage, or go to the Island County WIC Facebook page.
