- Description
Founded in 1998 by community members who recognized the need for affordable housing, Habitat for Humanity of Island County has grown from a small community affiliate, to a county-wide organization serving more than 60 families through homeownership or critical home repair. Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries.
With the support of community partnerships with respected businesses, local churches, civic organizations, and military service members, Habitat for Humanity has been able to provide decent, affordable homeownership to 50 homeowners. Through financial support or volunteering at our furniture stores or build sites, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
